Galen's Fighting Wings
A Wing is the smallest unit considred able to effectively combat Thread. A full Wing contains thirty dragons, plus the Wingleader. Three Wings make up a Flight. At full force, a Weyr should have about three Flights in the air at any given Threadfall.
NOTE: Pregnant riders in the second trimester fly with the Queen's Wing. Threadfighting in the first and third trimesters is considered too risky for rider and baby, so they are grounded during such times as well as the first six months after the birth.
For the purposes of this page, left and right are reversed. Further, since greens and scarlets do not have enough stamina to last an entire Threadfall, the left and right arms of the Wing are interchangable. The greens and scarlets of one arm begin the Threadfall with the greens and scarlets of the other arm taking their places when they tire. The Wing strength listed is with half the total number of greens and scarlets that belong to the Wing, rounded down.
